Blog 10 out of 25: Church Services

Happy Good Friday!

In the spirit of the Easter weekend, this week’s blog focuses on the numerous church services held at the Pelican Lakes Resort & Golf in Windsor, CO.

The owners of Pelican Lakes are Martin and Viki Lind, and both hold strong Christian faiths and beliefs. That strength has carried over into hosting not only Easter brunch-type of events at their various restaurants (The Grillhouse at Pelican Lakes and Ted’s Sweetwater Grill) but also has translated into offering their golf courses up for church services, Easter egg hunts and other faith-based activities.

Easter egg hunts have taken place on the Pelican Lakes facilities for decades. The hunt has been held on holes 1 and 10, the driving range, practice putting green and the event island. Thousands of children have roamed our grounds in search of multi-colored eggs filled with prizes.

The Lodge at Pelican Lakes, formerly The Grillhouse, as well as Ted’s Sweetwater Grill, have also hosted numerous Easter brunches.

The flagship church events have been services held on the golf course.

There have been sunrise Easter services, as well as Sunday services, on the facility, namely the Pelican Lakes driving range.

The church service was wildly popular during the 2020 COVID pandemic. Every Sunday from May 17 to Aug. 8 a golf cart and lawn chair service was led by local pastor Reza Zadeh on the Pelican Lakes driving range. At its peak, over 100 golf carts faced the driving range tee boxes and observed Reza’s service that always featured a sermon and hymns.

All of us at Pelican Lakes hope you enjoy a wonderful Easter weekend spent with family and friends!
